You can see from the simple formula what a huge impact Depth of Cut and Stepover have on machining time. For a commercial machine shop, optimizing MRR can make a huge difference to your business. If you can get a higher Material Removal Rate, you can shorten the machining time. The machining time spent roughing your workpiece is mostly determined by Material Removal Rate. This formula yields the number of cubic inches per minute your cutting tool is removing. MRR = Axial Depth of Cut * Radial Depth of Cut * Feed Rate (all values in inches or inches per minute for Feed Rate) The Feed Rate, which is a multiplier of the cylinder as it travels along the workpiece.Ī typical MRR calculation looks like this:.The Stepover, which will determine what fraction of the cylinder’s circumference is actually cutting. The Depth of Cut, which determines the length of that cylinder. The most common is the cylinder that is the shape of most cutting tools. Material Removal Rate (abbreviated MRR) is a function of: We want to do it as quickly as we can without compromising Tool Life so much that it isn’t worth it. After all, the purpose of roughing is raw Material Removal. When roughing we want to optimize Material Removal Rate. Let’s be specific about what we’re optimizing. Feed Rate is defined as how fast the cutter is moving through the cut. Stepover is also referred to as Radial Depth of Cut.įor the sake of completeness, Cutting Speed is defined as your spindle speed (in rpm) in the cut. It can be no more than 100% of the cutter’s diameter. Depth of Cut is also referred to as Axial Depth of Cut.Ĭut Width, also called Stepover, is the total thickness of the cut when viewing the cutting tool from above. So, if you’re doing a pocket in several steps or layers, it is the thickness of the current layer you’re cutting and not the total depth of the pocket. Since a picture is worth a thousand words:ĭepth of Cut is the length of the side of the flutes that are actually cutting. Let’s start by defining the terms “Depth of Cut” and “Cut Width” (also called “Stepover”). That means we can unlock a lot of potential by adopting a more scientific approach to Depth of Cut and Stepover. Your choice of Depth of Cut and Stepover will limit Cutting Speed and Feed Rate. Unfortunately, most CNC’ers have no scientific way to choose Depth of Cut and Stepover. Most CNC’ers calculate Cutting Speed and Feed Rate using science. Continue reading “Book Review: Puzzle House by Duncan Ralston” → I grew to love a few of the characters, but I do wish that the book could have been just a smidge longer, so I could learn more about the backstories of some of the other characters. This book is just over 200 pages, and Ralston doesn’t waste any of them. That said, some of the turns in the plot were a little over the top, but it was just so fun that I didn’t care. There’s quite a bit of intelligent research put into the puzzles, but I can’t elaborate more without including spoilers. The puzzles were clever, and the consequences of failing to solve them in time were quite severe. There are lots of twists in the plot, not just in the types of puzzles they’re forced to solve, but also in the reveals of each of the characters’ dark secrets. This book is entertaining and fast-paced. He intends to make them earn it, through proving their wits through a series of puzzles. Though masterfully executed aesthetically, the Rover's abundance of functions are sometimes hard to find or understand. Inside the 2024 Range Rover competes with the best in the business for style and finish quality. Two wheelbases are available and the longer version offers a third-row seat. Four-wheel steering enables the big SUV to turn sharper than its size would suggest, making parking easier. It offers a height-adjustable air suspension, which can yield up to 11.1 inches of ground clearance, though that does seem at odds with its optional 23-inch wheels. And being a Land Rover, the Range Rover hasn't forgotten its off-road roots. Lastly, the V8 turbocharged is undoubtedly the best option for drivers who are looking for excellent torque, sound, and throttle response.Three powertrain options including a plug-in hybrid, a conventional hybrid and a 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 give buyers a broad range of motivational choices. Moreover, the base inline-6 variant is also a great choice when it comes to comfortable driving and a good mileage average. People who want better fuel efficiency and a refined driving experience can go for plug-in hybrid variants. It's built for the people who want more power as it produces 575 hp. Moreover, the SVR model comes with exactly the same engine. The P525, which is also available in SV and HSE trims, is a supercharged V8 5.2-liter engine that offers 515 hp. On electricity alone, it easily provides 22 miles. The P400e that comes with SV and HSE Autobiography is a plug-in hybrid that produces 398 hp with a 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. The best thing about this model is that it offers a staggering 24 miles per gallon on average. The TdV6 produces 443 pound-feet of torque and 254 hp, and it's a diesel model. For example, the P360 offers an inline-6, 3.0-liter engine that comes with an electrically powered supercharger and HSE and Se trim levels and produces 355 hp. It offers both 21-inch and 22-inch wheels and features a black roof.ĭifferent alphanumeric names of Range Rover Autobiography demonstrate the trim levels and engines of different models. The Premium Black Edition is just like the HSE Silver Edition, but it comes with a black accent rather than silver. The SVR Carbon variant, as the name suggests, comes with different carbon fiber accents, such as a carbon fiber hood featuring an exposed center section and 22-inch wheels. The HSE Silver Edition comes with unique 21-inch wheels, silver color hood vents, door handles, and grille. The Land Rover Autobiography for sale offers new features and editions, and most differences in all the different variants are basically appearance packages. The design is sleeker and more compelling, with an intriguing engine lineup as well as powerful off-roading capability. The 2021 model provides more luxury and space as compared to the other similar SUV available in the market. Range Rover SV Autobiography Dynamic Black. The 2021 model of Autobiography is a little smaller and sportier as compared to its big brother offers the following sub-models: In 2011, the Range Rover Autobiography targeted the chauffeur-driven market, and the trend remains the same for the fourth generation that came out in 2013. The best thing about the third generation was that the customer could go for even more exclusive features by directly asking from the company. It also offered more customization options such as wooden trim and sheepskin rug color. Later in 2002 (third-generation), Land Rover introduced to its customers a premium quality audio package that was equipped with a multi-play DVD system. The first Autobiography models were basically the second generation of Range Rover vehicles that remained in production till 2001. That’s one of the reasons why even used Range Rover Autobiography prices are a little higher than their competitors. Therefore, Range Rover made these variants limited editions and installed the latest technology features and larger engines. The demand for these models was very high. The first Range Rover Autobiography for sale models were fully bespoke that came with a long-range of Autobiography interior and color customization options. The Autobiography trim was first revealed in 1993 at the London motor show and came out for public the following year. The Autobiography trim by Range Rover has become a status symbol and luxury staple over the course of the last two and a half decades. Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” There are many promises in the Bible that we can claim when we are going through difficult times. It also helps us to see our current situation in light of eternity. When we think about what God has promised us, it helps us to rest in Him. One of the best ways to experience the peace of God is to meditate on His promises. So, the next time you are feeling anxious or stressed, take a few minutes to list all the things you are thankful for. We experience the peace that surpasses all understanding. When we focus on all that God has done for us, it is easier to trust Him with our current situation. It also helps us to see our current situation in light of all that God has done for us in the past.ġ Thessalonians 5:18 says, “Give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” No matter what we are going through, we can always find something to be thankful for. When we are thankful for what God has done for us, it helps us to trust Him more. Our prayers to God are to be accompanied by thanksgiving. Prayer is a powerful tool that God has given us. It takes the focus off of our problems and puts it on God. This helps us to trust Him and to know that He is in control. We are also surrendering our lives to Him. When we pray, we are asking God for His help. Romans 12:12 says, “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” When we are faithful in prayer, even during our trials, the Lord will give us His peace. We are to tell our Father our needs and our concerns. This verse tells us that the first step toward having the peace that passes understanding is prayer. How To Have The Peace That Passes Understanding Pray When we trust in Jesus, we can have His peace in the midst of the storm. This peace is not based on our circumstances or on our own understanding. But when we turn to the Lord and ask for His peace, He will give us a peace that surpasses all understanding. We may even feel like we are losing our minds. When we go through difficult times, it is natural to feel anxious and stressed. It is a peace that defies explanation and human logic. The peace that surpasses understanding is a supernatural peace that God offers us in the midst of our trials. (Philippians 4:6-7) What Is Peace That Passes Understanding? And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. There's a very good chance that "superstar Steph" returns Thursday night in Game 6, however, and the Celtics will need to be very sharp defensively if they want to avoid the Warriors celebrating an NBA championship on their home floor. On Monday night, his supporting cast picked up the slack, led by Wiggins (26 points), Thompson (21 points) and the bench duo of Jordan Poole and Gary Payton II (29 combined points). And that's a good thing, because Thursday, hopefully, most of the time, he regresses to the mean - and it's scary when he does."Ĭurry carried the Warriors to a Game 4 win in Boston with 43 points on seven made 3-pointers. He's going to be livid going into Game 6, and that's exactly what we need." "That's good for us," Warriors forward Draymond Green said after Game 5. NBA in-season tournament preview: Can Celtics roll in East Group C? But Curry's longest-tenured teammates are well aware of what usually follows a Curry off-night. Those instances don't happen often Curry has failed to make a 3-pointer in just 12 of 646 games over the last 10 regular seasons. Curry is averaging 4.4 made 3-pointers per game on 46 percent shooting in the next game after not making a 3-pointer, including a then-NBA record 13 3-pointers in November 2016 against the New Orleans Pelicans. Not only did Stephen Curry have his worst game of the NBA Finals on Monday, he had the worst 3-point shooting night of his playoff career.Consider this stat from ESPN Stats & Information: That's bad news for the Celtics - because history suggests Curry will return with a vengeance in Thursday's Game 6 at TD Garden. Perk critical of Tatum, Brown's performances in Game 5 of Finals 8, 2018, a 26-point loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.Īnd yet the Warriors overcame Curry's cold night to beat the Celtics by double-digits (104-94) in Game 5, thanks in part to Andrew Wiggins 26-point, 13-rebound outburst and Boston's 18 turnovers. The last time Curry didn't make a three in any game (regular- or postseason) was Nov. The Golden State Warriors star went 0-for-9 from 3-point range against the Boston Celtics on Monday night in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, snapping his streak of 233 games with at least one 3-pointer. Stephen Curry picked a great time to have his worst outside shooting performance in three and a half years. You know, people are gonna kill each other. If you don't want to watch, don't watch, but, you know, it's my car.Īlso, if you tell your mom about this, -I'll purge you. Hey, you know what, Morty? Why don't we christen our squeaky-clean windshield here by watching a little of this purge through it? What?! No! What is your problem?! Morty, grow up. Oh, and, uh, why - why don't you have some candy bars, as well? Oh, no way. So, what do you do during the festival? You lock yourself in, or you go out and do some stuff? Oh, I do some pretty bad stuff.Īll right, well, w-what do I owe you for the wiper fluid? It's on the house. They're peaceful, and then, you know, they just purge. There was this one world that called it just murder night. You know, sometimes it's called the cleansing or the red time. That movie "the purge"? Oh, have you been here before? No, no, but I've been to a few planets with the same gimmick. Oh, I know what this is! You've been able to sustain world peace because you have one night a year where you all run around robbing and murdering each other without consequence. The festival? Ooh, well, for millennia, our society has been free of crime and war, -living in perfect peace. What? Why? Sundown is when the festival begins. Of course, you'll be wanting to be gone from here by sundown. Hey, muchacho, does your planet have wiper fluid yet, or are you gonna freak out and start worshipping us? The general store ought to have what you need. Well, w-what did you think, Morty? Life just developed on earth by itself? Here, let me take care of this. I didn't know that there were bugs out in space. It's nice to get back to the basics after a pretty intense, mixed-bag of a year. It's pretty great to be in this spaceship, just the two of us, you know? Just cruising around, Rick and Morty style. There’s been investment into the club’s training facilities, and we’ve improved the pitch at the Stadium of Light - very early into Kyril Louis-Dreyfus’ tenure it was revealed that he’d spent around £500,000 on a pitch lighting system that would help to maintain the quality of our playing surface for many years to come. Photo by Ian Horrocks/Sunderland AFC via Getty Images Whilst none of us are particularly privy to the inner workings of the club these days, as very little is said outside of official communications, it’s pretty clear that Johnson and Speakman have a good working relationship, and the way that our player recruitment was handled this summer - with the influence of several others, of course, as it would be unfair to only attribute that to our Head Coach and Sporting Director - was impeccable. Whilst Johnson was appointed prior to the change in ownership by KLD’s predecessors, it would be fair to assume that the current owner - given the fact he was in talks to purchase the club at the time - had a small part in helping to choose the next man to move us forward.īut, he’s still had to prove himself to the new owner and his Sporting Director, Kristjaan Speakman, showing that he is willing and capable of working within their boundaries. Lee Johnson certainly isn’t perfect, and it would be fair to say that he’s made mistakes during his short time thus far at Sunderland, but he’s shown adaptability and a willingness to work in a modern system - one entirely different to anything that he’s worked within at each of the clubs he was with before landing on Wearside. Having championed the need to move towards a sustainable, academy-led approach for Sunderland for many years, seeing the sensible way in which the playing side of club is being run play out in front of us this season has been welcome, and refreshing. Upon completion of each puzzle, the player's performance is compared on a leaderboard based on the number of instructions placed in their reactors, the number of cycles it took to meet the quota, and the number of reactors required to meet the solution. Final boss levels, called out as defense levels, complete each planet here, the player must efficiently create chemicals and deliver them in a timely manner, once the reactor systems have been started, to trigger defense systems to ward off attacking enemies before they destroy a control structure. Players generally must complete each puzzle in order to progress to the next one, but the game includes optional harder puzzles. The game's puzzles are divided into groups set on different planets. The player must not only program the individual reactors, often limited in functionality such as one that can only break bonds but not form them, but plan out the location and order of reactors to make the final product. From here, the output from one reactor will become the input for another reactor the player is often free to determine what intermediate products to produce to send to the next reactor. In larger puzzles, the player can also guide the formation of chemicals through multiple reactors, which they place out on a larger rectangular grid representing the planet's surface. The player successfully completes each puzzle by constructing a program capable of repeatedly generating the required output, meeting a certain quota. Similarly, if a waldo delivers the wrong product, the player will need to check their program. While the two waldos can cross over each other without harm, collision of atoms with one another or with the walls of the reactor is not allowed such collisions stop the program and force the player to re-evaluate their solution. The product molecule does not need to match orientation or specific layout of the molecules as long as the molecule is topologically equivalent with respect to atoms, bonds, and bond types however, in larger puzzles, these factors will influence the inputs to downstream reactors. As such, the player is challenged to create a visual program to accept the given inputs, disassemble and reassemble them as necessary, and deliver them to the target output areas to match the required product. The reactors may support specific nodes, set by the player, that act where atomic bonds can be made or broken, where atoms can undergo fission or fusion, or where logic decisions based on atom type can be made. The two waldos can also be synchronized, forcing one to wait for the other to reach a synchronization command. The commands direct the movement of the waldo, to pick up, rotate, and drop atoms and molecules, and to trigger reactor events such as chemical bond formation. The player adds commands from an array to direct each waldo independently through the grid. Each reactor has up to two input and up to two output quadrants, and supports two waldos, red and blue, manipulated through command icons placed on the grid. The primary game mode of SpaceChem depicts the internal workings of a Reactor, mapped out to a 10 × 8 regular grid. In SpaceChem, the player takes the role of a SpaceChem Reactor Engineer whose task is to create circuits through which atoms and molecules flow with the aid of waldos to produce particular batches of chemical shipments for each level. Gameplay A SpaceChem program requiring the player to make titanium oxide and zinc oxide using titanium, zinc, and oxygen, and deliver the completed molecules to the appropriate quadrant on the right SpaceChem was incorporated into some academic institutions for teaching concepts related to both chemistry and programming. Reviewers found the game's open-ended problem-solving nature as a highlight of the title. The game has since been ported to other computing platforms and mobile devices. Though it was initially rejected for sale on the Steam platform, Valve later offered to sell the game after it received high praise from game journalists further attention came from the game's release alongside one of the Humble Indie Bundles. The game was initially released for Microsoft Windows at the start of 2011 via Zachtronics' own website. SpaceChem was the developer's first foray into a commercial title after a number of free Flash-based browser games that feature similar puzzle-based assembly problems. In the game, the player is tasked to produce one or more specific chemical molecules via an assembly line by programming two remote manipulators (called "waldos" in the game) that interact with atoms and molecules through a visual programming language. SpaceChem is an indie puzzle game developed by Zachtronics Industries, based on principles of automation and chemical bonding. |
